Together is Better... Hey Collective Friends, I wanted you to be aware of the content of our Townhall discussion on Sunday. It was a significant discussion and I have included it, in great detail...
We are going to be a church that focuses on turning living rooms into places of connection and communion and helps bring people together into communities where they can be connected and loved. We could not be more excited for what the future holds. In a future email time we will update you on how our Serving Initiatives and ‘Jesus + Beer’ events complete the picture of who we are as a church.
We are so grateful for both your continued support of CollectiveMKE as well as your personal generosity toward those in and around your life who need it most. We could not have formed Collective without your support. As a result of your generosity, we ended 2015 in a positive financial situation. At our town-hall meeting on March 17th, we will go into more details and specifics, and have time for questions.
Advent is the season of the year leading up to Christmas. It reminds us both of Jesus birth 2000 years ago and of the daily presence of the divine in everyone and everything. Advent confronts us and the whole world with the question:
Do we have room for love?
Today, the question of Christmas has never been more relevant. In a crowded world full of need will we make room in our hearts for each other. Will we learn from the story of Jesus birth and open up our hearts in love towards the humans around us and around the world who need a little room.
Hope you can join us as we explore Advent and Christmas this year.
WHAT IS A LITURGY OF FIRE? Its a bonfire, with a little extra. In addition to the normal stuff we associate with bonfires (fire, amazing people, hot dogs and s’mores) there will also be a Liturgy aimed at letting go of the baggage we all carry...
