Sometimes the things that hold us back need to be set down.
Each year in the fall we host a "Liturgy of Fire." It is mostly a just a big fall bonfire. We provide a big fire. What you do with it is up to you. If you want hotdogs, marshmallows, tasty beverages - whatever - bring it with you and maybe some to share. That's basically it, with one short exception.
Sometimes the things that hold us back need to be set down. For a few minutes, Brandon will lead a short invitation to "release" those things that need to be set down for you to move forward. For you, it might be issues of forgiveness, or disappointment, or relationships that need to change, or whatever it is that makes you feel like you are trying to run a race underwater.
So when invited, you can throw whatever it is that represents that heaviness for you. Last year some people put pieces of paper in and one person dumped in a suitcase. Nobody is keeping records and you don't have to share it, you can just throw it into the fire.
Then we will hang out and enjoy fire and friendship and the crisp fall night.
